Yevhenii Yenin, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine

"From the very first days of the full-scale aggression, the national police joined the fight against saboteurs, fire adjusters," reported the first deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Yevhenii Yenin

He said that at the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, 123 counter-sabotage units were created in the National Police, designed to counter enemy sabotage-intelligence groups (DSG). "At least 1,500 employees are involved in this work," he added.

According to the information of the deputy minister, the activity of the counter-sabotage units resulted in the exposure of 88 DRGs, the detention and transfer to the SBU authorities of more than 800 persons suspected of sabotage and intelligence activities.

Yenin explained the tasks of the enemy DRG at the initial stage of the war, as well as what the enemy is targeting today.

"If at first we fixed DRGs consisting of 5-10 people, whose task was to carry out terrorist acts and sabotage, including in the center of the capital, then in the future many of them were aimed specifically at adjusting fire, illuminating our positions, fixing effectiveness of rocket and artillery fire," he said.

Yenin emphasized that in addition to the information that the police receives from the services at the checkpoints, especially during the curfew, a significant contribution to the exposure of saboteurs is made by the citizens themselves.

He outlined the main distinguishing features of saboteurs: atypical behavior, living of a group of people in the same apartment, going outside only in the evening. Also, the deputy minister advised citizens not to relax, to report to the police about suspicious people who live near them.

"Although it may seem that there is nothing dangerous around, in fact the enemy is working in the rear, their agents can gather information, they can still adjust their fire and things like that," he said.

According to the information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a certain decrease in the activity of enemy DRGs has been recorded, both in Ukraine and in Kyiv, but it is not at all about the cessation of such activities. Sowing panic, maintaining maximum tension in territories far from the front in various ways - this is only part of the range of tasks that saboteurs continue to perform.

Recently, the capital patrol stopped a car whose driver violated traffic rules. Kermanych was visibly nervous, so the inspectors decided to conduct a cursory inspection. In the mobile phone, which the man provided for examination, the patrol officers saw many photos of military equipment, signs of settlements, enemy propaganda, drawings with coordinates and callsigns. The driver was detained and handed over to the investigators of the Kyiv district police department.

Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv, Ivan Vyhivskyi

"In the direction of identifying and detaining saboteurs, a huge and serious operative work is being carried out, which does not stop", - emphasized the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv, Ivan Vyhivskyi.

The first deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Yevgeny Yenin, claims that in the context of the activities of the DRG, which are in the so-called "sleeping mode", law enforcement officers carefully study a number of regions: criminality, pro-Russian movements and groups.

As for helping citizens, Yenin noted that they should continue to be vigilant.
